June 2022

Today, as we face a growing scarcity of natural resources, increasing inequality, and political polarization, the world has called out for purpose-driven leaders to redefine what success means, to alleviate our planet’s suffering, and to forge new paths toward mutual prosperity.

As business and management schools are among the most influential actors in the world to shape the skills and mindsets of future leaders, a systemic reform of management education is both a duty and an opportunity.

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 with 880+ universities in its network, has the vision to transform management education and develop the responsible decision-makers of tomorrow to advance responsible value creation beyond corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.

On June 3rd, at the PRME Global Forum, it was announced that the Economics of Mutuality Foundation has formed a new 3-year partnership with PRME to advance this vision.

The partnership will create a collaborative and multi-level platform that will enable peer-learning and engagement. Its objective is to incentivize business schools to incorporate the teaching of responsible management and mutual value creation and to report on progress. The Economics of Mutuality school of thought co-developed with Oxford University’s Saïd Business School will be one of the key content providers.
