“This Program Shifted My Core”: Redefining Impact Through Mutual Value Creation
August 2025
A Conversation With Olamide Dauda
Economics of Mutuality Practitioner Stories
“This is probably one of the best curated courses on mutual value creation because it’s not just abstract theory. It is grounded in practical application.”
- Olamide Dauda, Co-founder and CTO, Impact Pointe
When Olamide Dauda joined the Leading with Purpose executive education program by Mutual Value Labs, she already had a strong foundation in purpose-driven work. As co-founder and CTO of Impact Pointe, a Nigerian boutique consultancy focused on social impact, and a board member of two non profits - one in business incubation, the other transforming public education - she brought with her years of experience across policy, agriculture, and development.
Still, the course offered something new: structure, tools, and language to match her vision.
“Even with all my experience, this course helped me think differently. It brought clarity — and conviction.”
From Global Perspectives to Grounded Practice
What impressed Olamide most was the practical blend of theory and real-world application. With facilitators from business and academia, and a global cohort, she found herself challenged and inspired.
“There was even a framework to compute mutual value. It’s not charity — it’s a new paradigm for how business should work.”
She particularly connected with the concept of a mutual P&L, which includes trust, social capital, and human well-being in business performance; concepts she’s lived, but now can clearly articulate. “I’ve seen farmers choose loyalty over higher prices because of trust. Now I have a framework to show why that matters.”
Driving Change in a Challenging Context
Bringing these principles to life in Nigeria, where economic hardship is widespread, requires advocacy. Olamide is focused on building capacity within her team and clients, helping businesses see that creating value for all stakeholders is not just idealistic, but strategic.
“I’ve always believed Nigeria’s transformation would come through the private sector. This gave me the tools to make that real.”
For Olamide, purpose isn’t a slogan, it’s a way of being. “Purpose is about relationships — with self, others, and the work. When that aligns, life feels whole.”
Leading Impact Pointe, she finds joy in working with people she trusts, on things that matter. “We laugh, we cry, we grow together. It doesn’t feel like work.”
Asked to summarise the experience of the course in one word, Olamide chose insightful. But she adds:
“It didn’t just teach me something — it shifted my core. And you can’t quantify what that kind of clarity does to a person.”
A Renewed Sense of Purpose
Olamide left the course with more than knowledge — she left with clarity and motivation.
"I find myself thinking differently. There’s a clearer alignment between my personal values and how I want to lead."
Whether leading Impact Pointe’s consulting engagements or shaping non-profit initiatives, Olamide now integrates the Economics of Mutuality principles into her work, helping others move from purpose statements to practical implementation.
