Conscious Capitalism EoM Briefing at Mars Global Headquarters

Jay Jakub, Chief Advocacy Officer and Senior Director for External Research, Mars, Inc / Catalyst, hosted 17 C-suite business leaders from the Washington, DC chapter of Conscious Capitalism at the Mars global headquarters for a half day briefing and discussion about the Economics of Mutuality business model / management innovation.

The visiting delegation was led by DC chapter President David Gardner, founder / owner of The Motley Fool. The meeting generated a lot of enthusiasm and shared interest. Mars is a member of the Conscious Capitalism movement and has been the incubator for the Economics of Mutuality (EoM) approach that is putting purpose into practice, practically and at a business unit level.

Dr. Jakub co-authored with Mars Chief Economist and Catalyst MD Bruno Roche the EoM book, Completing Capitalism (Berrett-Koehler 2017 & in Mandarin by CITIC Press, 2018) and has contributed to the forthcoming Oxford University Press book, Putting Purpose into Practice: The Economics of Mutuality.

Asia Economics of Mutuality Forum 24-25 April 2024

Korean and global leaders in business, academia, government, and civil society will gather at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea, to launch the inaugural Economics of Mutuality Foundation and Hanyang University’s Global Forum on the role of business and investing in society. The event will take place from April 24 to 25, 2024. The two-day event will include addresses by Professor Colin Mayer, former Dean of Oxford University’s Said Business School; Chairman Moon Kook Hyun, President of the New Paradigm Institute and former CEO of Yuhan-Kimberly, and Dr. Jay Jakub, the Executive Director of the Economics of Mutuality Foundation, and co-author of the book, “Completing Capitalism.” The event will highlight the roles of academia, corporations, investors, family offices and entrepreneurs in creating an ecosystem of mutual value co-creation by how companies deploy their capital in society.
