The Asia Economics of Mutuality Center was officially launched on November 6, 2025 during the 2nd Annual EoM Foundation-Hanyang University Next Impact Forum in Seoul, Korea.
Based within Hanyang University’s Business School and led by Professor Seungho Choi, the new Center will serve as a leading hub for innovation, education, and leadership in advancing the Economics of Mutuality (EoM) framework for mutual value creation in Asia. Its mission is to conduct research and to contextualize EoM for the Asian market, to facilitate public-private collaboration, to help equip educators to teach mutual value creation, and to co-develop teaching curricula that will help drive more sustainable and equitable economic systems across Asia.
Advancing Purpose-Driven Growth in Asia
The Center’s vision is to advance EoM principles through innovation, partnering, education, and leadership, building sustainable, purpose-driven growth in business and society. It will draw upon and contribute to learnings from EoM-related business cases developed by EoM and its partners over the last decade+ of practical implementation in corporations across industries and geographies.
Key areas of focus for the Center will include:
EoM Framework Innovation and Research Development: advancing the science and practice of mutual value creation in business
Education and Talent Development: equipping the next generation of leaders with mutuality-based frameworks and tools
Leadership Development and Corporate Collaboration: partnering with organizations to embed purpose at the heart of strategy
Contribution to Community and Industry: generating measurable value for businesses, people, and society that together enhance human flourishing

A Forum for the Future of Business
Now in its second year, the Next Impact Forum in Seoul convened leading figures from Korea’s public and private sectors to explore the future of business through the lens of mutual value creation.
"We brought together an amazing group of leaders from business, finance, academia, and government to dive deep into the future of business in Asia through the lens of Economics of Mutuality," said Kwang Kim, Chairman of the EoM Alliance’s Human Flourishing Foundation and co-chair, with Hanyang Professor Hyun Shin, of the new Asia EoM Center’s governance board.
Among the distinguished guests marking the Center’s launch were Un-Chan Chung, former Prime Minister of South Korea and a recognized thought leader advocating for a more sustainable form of capitalism, and Kook Hyun Moon, former CEO of Yuan-Kimberly (Kimberly Clark’s South Korean joint venture), renowned for bringing sustainability into the corporate mainstream in Korean companies. Their insights, along with those of many other influential leaders and partners, highlighted the growing movement toward business models that balance performance with purpose.
